The Art of Living ‘Le Collection Jardin Sauvage’
In early September, Studio Lodha unveiled ‘Le Collection Jardin Sauvage’, a unique range of tableware inspired by the company’s eclectic sense of style, fun and love of colour and bold prints. Designed by the studio’s Creative Director, Blandine de Navacelle, the collection features a green leopard print dinner plate, a taupe leopard print dinner plate and a dessert plate with floral detailing
When designing the collection, it was important to Blandine that each piece was exceptionally versatile, and would be able to work as part of a full collection, or be integrated into an existing dinner set. The colourways were carefully selected to complement gold or silver cutlery, while the timeless patterns sit beautifully with both a contemporary table-scape, or more traditional décor.
Studio Lodha worked closely with Limoges porcelain house Marie Daâge to create and hand-paint each piece from the collection. Limoges porcelain is a centuries-old form of French ceramics, made in the Limousin region of France since 1797. It has long been revered for its delicate craftsmanship and vibrant colours, and continues to be coveted by collectors today. Using high quality clay sourced from the banks of the Vienne River, skilled artisans blend traditional shapes and styles with modern motifs to create unique pieces of art. As one of the most esteemed porcelain houses in the region, a Marie Daâge piece is a true work of art, and a timeless treasure for any collector.
“Despite its contemporary look and popularity today, the leopard print motif has been used for centuries in luxury design and homewares. It is a fun and striking print that can be used to seamlessly blend contemporary and antique pieces; something Studio Lodha do regularly in our designs,” commented Blandine. “To complete the two leopard print plates, I designed a dessert plate with a classic flower pattern, evoking the weaves found in many traditional 17th and 18th French fabrics as well as the different shades of green of an English country garden,” she continued.
The range is limited edition and will only be available while stocks last. Arriving just in time for Christmas, Studio Lodha expect the collection to be in hot demand for the festive season. The dinnerware will be sold exclusively at Bonadea, one of Studio Lodha’s favourite homeware ateliers. Located in the heart of Belgravia, Bonadea ship internationally from their boutique or via the online store.
